    Default Martial Arts Magazine?

Anyone know of a good martial arts magazine? I looked at Black Belt...but it seems more of a advertisement magazine than anything else. Just wondering what mags you read.

Dragon Tsunami publishes a couple of book magazines that are not all about advertisements.

    http://www.dragon-tsunami.org/dtorg/Pages/Home.htm

There is also a number of other magazines that are pretty good as well. You just have to do some searching for them. I get most of them from RyuKyu Bookstore. It is based here so I just go in an pick them up but you can order online from:

    Ryukyu Martial Arts
    5005 Merriam Dr.
    Merriam, Kansas
    toll-free phone: (800) 383-4017

    http://www.ryukyu.com/

This is the LARGEST online seller of martial arts related books and magazines. If you can not find it anywhere else all you have to do is call them and they will most likely have it.

    You might also check out:

    Devil Dog Mark
    Hawaiian Kempo & Okinawan Kubudo

Well, since you cannot change any of the magazines, I suggest you skip the advertisements and just focus on what you like in the magazine.

I, on the other hand, like the quality of thinking of the ADVERTISEMENTS much more than the quality of the articles.

Some of those ads are written by world class copywriters.

    Mr. Parker attempted that once.

    It died.

I really think that this group is much better (when you read the right posters) than any martial arts magazine out there.

The resources that Bob gives us here are awesome.

All people here should willing support this group with a gold membership.

    Just my opinion.

Yeah I like reading the posts here as much as any article in a magazine. Thanks everyone for your contributions.

Well it is hard to post and follow Mr Tourrette. With his educatiuon and experience he is a tough act to follow but I agree that Kenpotalk the the beginning and end of all things Kenpo.

I actually get "inside Kung-Fu" from a family member every year for Christmas. I read it cover to cover then I cut out the articles that I felt were beneficial and I keep them in a 3 ring binder. I am at barnes & noble at leat twice a week reading all the MA mags but I onloy buy them if I find some real good stuff inside--- I do have articles from the late 80's to today and I re-read them occasionally.

As an "aside" bama you look a bit like Chrisy Moneymaker to me, ever heard that?

The above is just my opinion.

    Thank you.

I also like the positive interactions with people that I agree with, and MORE IMPORTANTLY those I totally disagree with.

If those you disagree with are intelligent, experienced and competent, THEN what they say, even if you first think they are incompetant nincompoops, must be read, studied, analized and practiced before coming to any conclusions.

Brother John irritates the crap out of me, BUT...

...after doing the above, in most cases I "see/feel/hear" where he is coming from and I do respect everything he posts.

...Amy is an Earth element, ugh...but a lovely soul, so I do pay attention to what she says.

Doc Dave has much verbage, but always intelligent.

Doc Ron I have yet to understand, but I love his writting, his concepts and his descriptions, plus a few youtube items.

    Blab, blab, blab.

My point being, none of the above can be done in a magazine.

And you only get good at site communications by doing them.

I'm glad this kenpotalk is here.

It is light years beyond ANY magazine.

    Just my opinion of course.
