I'm listening to the most recent pod-cast and they're discussing "loyalty."

Interesting indeed. However, you're only getting one side of the story here. Also, it's somewhat slanted toward the loyalty expected of the student. Comparatively, there is little mention of the loyalty that should come from the instructor. Just scars from my own bad experience are burning.

This is a good discussion, however. You get some insight and a reminder of the fact that people will let you down. Entering into any relationship with that in mind goes a long way to reducing the number of resentments and increasing the opportunities for grace and forgiveness. I'll stop twisting my imaginary beard now.
