Try not to look at the techniques as a basis of sponteneity, it will become confusing if you start asking yourself how you get from Sword of Desctruction to Attacking Mace to Pincher to Delayed Sword, etc. etc. There needs to be a common platform from which you execute techniques if you really want to move from one to another. Ask your instructor how they go together, as you will get an array of opinions and approaches online. But, your best bet is just to understand the basics and make them as effective as possible.

    Good luck, enjoy.

My favorite combo is a nice steak and cold beer.

Other than that what bujuts said hits the nail on the head.

    Greetings.

It would be on the level of hit available target, then hit available target, then hit available target, then hit available target. LOL.

In a pressured attack drill, the technique sequences never come out the same for some reason... yet they have the structure of contact manipulation to better position (hit the guy to cancel the attackers options and weapons) and maybe control or finish (or escape).

    Enjoy!

I don't know if there is an ultimate combo but I do have some favorites.

I'll describe one against a right punch:

From natural stance step forward into right front stance with a right knife hand block to the bicep of the punching arm.

Rotate right forearm into right ridgehand striking the left (from your perspective) jaw line.

Shift into horse stance and deliver your right elbow to the right side of the head.

Shift back into right front stance with a right reverse palm to the left side of the head rotate forearm into a right regular palm to the right side of the head.

Catch the opponents head with a left palm to the left side.

Finish with a right punch to either the front or right side of the face.

Hard to describe - easier to demonstrate.

Well put. Techniques, after all, are simply a series of basics put in a logical order based on a prescribed attack.

It sounds like your question may be more in line with "grafting" and/or "borrowing", but in reference to combo's one of my favorites I developed way back as a purple belt that I still like is against a right punch:

Step in with the right foot (RNB) executing a right inward block -> right back knuckle -> left palm heel -> right inward elbow -> right obscure elbow -> right back knuckle -> left palm heel -> Right straight punch -> right side kick -> cover out

This "sounds" really cool on a BOB punching dummy. Rat-a-tat-tat LOL

But, on the subject of combo's I've enjoyed finding myself doing:

On the inside of his right arm, moving in with left EOB, left twist, right straight to the chin. Rising vertical elbow to the chin as you knee the groin / pelvis. Dropping elbow on the clavicle as your foot plants at his spinal column. Right knee buckles his right leg, right arm does an overhand inside outside break of his right arm. Get his (now hyper extended) elbow against your ribs, hold it tight with your lats against you, your hands controlling his wrist. Step back with the right foot to a left twist, keeping your elbow anchored to lock his arm into you.

Now...unwind to a left neutral bow. He now has a 360 degree elbow, compliments of you.

    Cheers

Ah, yes. Enjoyed that particular combo a couple of nights ago.

I've got a fun, short combo from my three man mass attack. The bad guys is attempting a two arm grab. Step forward with left into a neutral bow, double outward extended blocks. Right chop to the floating rib, left chop to the throat, right side fist to the solar plexus, turn right into a broken bow as you deliver a left hammer fist to the groin, drive the left elbow into the sternum to stand him up and finish with a left rear kick.
Be careful what you say, some may take it the wrong way.

    PLEASE NOTE:
I have moved this thread from the "Technique of the Month" forum to "General Martial Arts". Technique of the Month is a forum for discussing a particular technique and it's application.

Please do your best to make certain your subject best matches the intent or nature of the forum you place it in. It avoids confusion and gets you the most from your effort.

See it start before it starts, smile, shake his hand, and tell him how smart he is.

I think I'll take a #2 with katsup only, upsized with a coke.

    Combo 1:
Run like the wind into a public area
    Run to a police station
    Run and hide

    Combo 2:
right elbow sandwich to the opponent's left temple
left elbow sandwich to the nose
guided collision left knee strike to the groin, solar plexus, or face
take down and shove face to the floor
    etc

    Combo 3:
right slap grab to the opponent's left ear
twist ear off and diagonal pull down
    run like the wind

No eye gouges, strikes to the throat, or breaking bones (ie, kneecaps) unless it's life or death, but then again I really need to be cornered for me to turn on a switch to go full out and do combo 2,3, or any massive damage moves.

A light food combo on a rainy day:
    roaring fire
    good book or dvd
    bread
    soup
    seedless grapes
cut up fruits (peaches, strawberries, various melons)
smoked gouda cheese and sesame crackers
    grape juice

    and then dessert....hehe.

This is best with a friend.
