That's cool, Amy. Good luck!

Okay. Very cool here.
I just got off the phone with my first instructor, Vinton Koklich. I haven't talked to him in over 20 years. Closer to 24. It was so great. It turns out he only lives a relatively short drive from me (an hour an a half maybe).
I hope to get to see him next week. I think he's a 9th and sort of retired from kenpo about 7 years ago. But one never completely retires from kenpo!
I'm so excited!
Now I'm nervous too because I feel like I'm 15 again and I totally want to impress him. I was trying to think of wise kenpo things to say. lol.
Needless to say, it was a short conversation! lol.
Anyhoo, I hope to see him next week when he's coming to the area.

Clear mind, clear movement. Mastery of the Arts is mastery over the Self. That in this moment, this motion, the thoughts, memories, impulses and passions that cloud the mind must yield to the clarity of purpose, and purity of motion.

I am sure he is going to be very impressed and proud. That is awesome news. Best of luck to you.

Guess we never get over trying to impress our first Black Balt instructor on how far we have come. Our Senior Grandmaster moved to the Northwest a while back. We are hoping to be able to visit him sometime this year. Been over 27 years since we have seen him. Hopefully we have improved some in that time. Anyway it will be good to see him.
I am most Respectfully,
