    Default Starting Over?

Well I am really bummed I lost my Kenpo notebook. I've been using the same one for almost 3 years now and was thinking it's almost like starting over, but I realized all that knowledge is still there in me. That's why we practice right? I guess now I'll finally start moving it all into the computer quicker.

Yeah that sucks! My PC recently went ka-put on me. I'm hoping I can pull my files off the hard drive...there was a lot of them! I do have hard copies of most of the stuff though, but GOD what a headache it would be re-typing or even scanning all that stuff in again!

I've lost far more on a computer than in hand written note form. Nothing's foolproof. But, however you do it, notes aren't wasted. Just the act of sitting down and thinking about what you've learned, organizing it, then putting it into writing (visual cue) helps lock it into permanent memory.

I do feel for you, though. Sucks to loose the physical fruits all that work.

Pssst... Rich Hales Kenpo Journal could be a wise investment at this point in time. That and backing everything up on CD Rom.

LOL! I have been looking at that journal. Things unfortunately are kinda tight, got Mom living with me now. The first thing on my hitlist is renewing my KT membership.

Another solution for now might be to use the KT library, and do a lot of cut and pasting.

    Hi.

What kind of stuff did you lose? I have a TON of files on stuff. Tell me what you need (PM me) and I can probably email you some attachments.

    No problem.

I read the initial post on this thread and my first thought was about how difficult that had to be. I know the work that I put into mine and its loss would be terrible. My next thought was along the lines of, I sure am glad I kleep my information backed up in several places.

Then I read Dans post. Wow. He looked at the cloud and saw a silver lining. Then Rob and Amy chimed in with good solid offers of help.

This thread demonstrates many of the things I enjoy about KT. I see the people on KT jumping in with both hands to help. I have had offers of help and friendship here on KT.

Thank you all for being here. Thanks for all you do.
