Dear Kenpo brothers and sisters:
Who do you think would have won in a match between Ed Parker in his prime and Bruce Lee before his death?
Please give your thoughts on a "tag" match between the two as opposed to a fight to the finiish.
I realize that this question is similiar to a Ali VS. Rocky Marciano question.
Does anyone know of any computer simulations featuring these two fighters?

Bruce was a superior athlete, similar speed and power generated by both IMO.
Would possibly be a matter of who made a mistake 1st.
Huge size difference though.

I think someone voted for Mr. Parker in "Memories of Ed Parker" but I can't remember who it was. He said he thought Mr. Parker would win because they were about equal but Mr. Parker was bigger. That is a good book if you are interested in Kenpo. I reccomend it. Mr. Conatser may be the best source if you can't find a copy for sale somewhere online.

Dear Cdhal:
Thanks for the book reference! I have no idea on who the winner might be if such a contest had occured.
I did hear from ny old instructor about a question that was posed by a reporter. The reporter asked Mr. Parker if he was challenged by the "Father" of TKD Jhoon Rhee how might he respond?
Mr. Parker replied as I was told, "Being as I was the one challenged I could set the time and the place. The time is now. The place is a phone booth."
Kick me now little brother! I would suspect that Mr. Parker MIGHT have made a similiar statement if asked about a challenge by Bruce Lee.
Does anyone remember the computer simulation that was done with Ali and Marciano?
Forget that, I want to know who'd win in a fight between Santa and the Easter Bunny.

I think the Easter bunny would win based on leg strength and Santa being out of shape.
As for Bruce vs Ed, the world will never know.
