A flaslight is a good start bad guys will be "blinded by the light". Especially if it is one of the new military grade flashlights ! You can then use your negotiation skills to bring the incident to a happy conclusion! Lol

I have a hive of trained bees. We individually filed down their stinger so that they can sting more than once. We then developed a honey and nectar exchange program. I am working on my horde of trained attack squirrels armed with sling shots and paring knives attached to their tails so they are cute fuzzy scorpion rodents to patrol our block...

yup.. and they are always watching...

Really you think that will take out a hoard of Squirellpions?

That and I have a collection of knives, a hanbo, a red oak boken, and an M&P 40 with saber rounds.. but I'd much rather release the vermin.

Nah, it's just a little hand-held, not big enough to be a weapon, not particularly blinding. Just bright enough to see into the corners of the room.

honestly, I'm not worried about bad guys coming into my house in the wee hours of the morning. I mean, not even a little bit worried. At all.

110 and 70lbs here. The big one looks like a wolf. The small one looks like Animal from The Muppet Show. Seven rounds of .357 Gold Dot in an appropriate carrying case back them up and if time is of the essence, a razor sharp Katana leaning in the corner behind a plant stand.

Like Michael, albeit for different reasons, I have no fear of anyone breaking in. At all.
Be careful what you say, some may take it the wrong way.

Besides an alarm clock. A stack of kids books that I can throw like ninja stars!
Daffy, fighting with his $1.25 quarter staff : "Ho! Haha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha! Thrust!" (quarter staff bounces off log, bending his beak. He straightens it back to normal, and starts speaking to himself) "Something's amiss here... hmm, let me run through it. Ho, haha, guard, turn, parry, dodge, spin, ha, thrust." (beak bends again) "Got it." (straightens beak, and starts his fighting moves again.) "Ho! Haha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin!"

I have a flashlight, bible and a .45. If I can't wow them with a cutie pie joke or impress them with my negotiation skills I can plant them and bury them afterwards. Lol

When I first read this quickly I thought it said "Glock" radio. Now that would be something to wake up to!

Never did like the Glock.. something about how it sat in the hand... Shrug. I could never seem to get a predictable recoil from it.

In my experience, the untrained bees are far more dangerous than the trained ones.

Personally, I don't have any weapons on my nightstand. Too many kids running around to do it safely IMO. I suppose I could have something all locked up, but wouldn'tthat make it take too long to access on almost any emergency where you would actually need it? I don't think I would trust it, though, unless I had it locked up or in a safe. Am I wrong? Is there a way in this day and age to keep the house and kids 100% safe without putting it in a safe?
