Default any ideas what this could be?

Alright I have question. Now this isn't too big of a problem but I'm curious. I've had this pain that has been pretty constant for the past year or so. This is in my right arm. whenever I put stress on my right arm, such as during push ups or working the bag I get this sort of dull ache from the front half of my deltoid, and then it runs back a little and down the middle of the outside of my arm between the bicep and tricep. It stops at the elbow joint. I dunno how easy that is to follow but I dunno how else to put it. It's not that painful and I can work through it. it feels kinda like a sensation of weakness in that arm. Sometimes it only happens when I start my workout but once im good and warmed up I fades away. It almost feels like it radiates from the bone. I just kinda assumed is was just getting sore from me over working my right arm but after realizing how long it's been going on I thought I ask for an opinion. anyone have any clues? or similar situation for that matter?

Does cold weather have anything to do with it? I had chemotherapy and my veins shortened up a little in one arm. It hurt like that. After awhile it stopped hurting. Maybe it stretched out or something.

Have you had any intravenous anything?

Could be a nerve issue in your arm.

You should see a doctor, if it's been this long. Just make sure there isn't something insidious going on there that might become a real problem later on...

In my book, any constant pain you have had for that long is crying out for a visit to the doctor. There are a number of probable causes and they should be checked out.

You also said that the pain "fades away" with activity. That is a very common characteristic of muscle pain. AFTER you have seen the doctor you can try the tests for muscle shortness that I describe below. I say after because I can temporarily remove heart pain and cancer pain with muscle treatment. If you do that you could guarantee yourself many future bad days.

The following muscles are known to cause the pain you describe. Try the test and let me know if they show decreased motion in the affected muscles. If they do I can describe how I teach my patient's to self treat those muscles.

Triceps - sit with your palm open, Bend the elbow and bring the palm to the front of your shoulder. Now bring your elbow toward the ceiling. It should point straight up.

Biceps - This one requires help. Sit with your helper standing behind you stabilizing your other shoulder with one hand. Raise your affected arm to your side at shoulder level with the thumb down and the elbow straight. Your helper brings the arm across your back toward the opposite shoulder. It should reach the opposite shoulder.

Anterior/Middle Deltoid and Infraspinatus - Bring your hand behing your back and reach as high up toward the opposite shoulder blade. It should reach nearly to the top.

Subscapularis/Supraspinatus/Posterior Deltoid etc... Sit and turn your head 45 degrees away from the hurting shoulder. Bring the hand on the affected side behind your head and wrap it around your mouth. It should normally reach about half way across it.

Tryy these and let me know what happens After you see the doctor!

If it has been bothering you this long. You definitely need to seek the services of a healthcare professional.

I don't cold weather really affects it. And I don't inject anything into my veins. So I dunno I'm dealing with the same thing. I'm sorry you had to go through chemo Amy and I'm glad you're still alive and kicking (no pun intented) with all of us today

Also I would like to add I've made an appointment to meet with a doctor and will get back to everyone with the results. And I would like to thank Richard for taking the time to write out those tests. depending what my doctor deduces Im curious on the follow ups for those tests you descibed.
