Great blog Jamie! I am always trying to maintain the balance between family, training and work. My family also is my #1 priority, so much that I run my business from home and my children are not in daycare. I'm a stay at home dad with a business.

My 'professional' work is as an investment broker (stocks, bonds, funds, rrsp, etc.). The teaching I do is at my instructors school. I have thought about starting my own martial arts practise but my life doesn't allow the time commitment at this point.

The idea behind this article came from an Ed Parker seminar I was viewing. Before reading it, place in rank order what you feel is the most important between body position, environment, and range. We can discuss it on this thread.

Ok, I'll bite. In my opinion the three factors you describe are of equal importance. Each of the three will be determined by the other two. One could also lump Body Position & Range into the category of Target Availability.
