Can we get a clip? I'm interested to see what they look like/how they are shot. Mr. Speakman promised a DVD series during a seminar once and mentioned the production values and that they'd have SFX like zooming in on target areas even to reveal muscle and nerve targets as appropriate.

But I'm curious what angles the videos show and what other production values were used to help get his message across.

    Thanks!

Hey ! I don't have any video clips of the new DVD's, BUT - Mr. Speakman told me that the camera angles are extremely cool - they had a camera shooting down from above - literally, on a beam going across the ceiling - AND of course cameras on the ground from different points.
I will ask my instructor if he could get me a clip or something - 'cause, I'm curious too! LoL

I am interested in them. But I'd really like to get a review and as others have indicated possibly a clip or two. I'm purchased "bad" MA tapes in the past - by some who are considered legends or greats. I am very interested, but hesitant.

These will not be "Bad" MA tapes, trust me. Speaman has too much pride and integrity. A clip will be here shortly. I was just with him last weekend. Just keep checking my website www.akksphoenix.com

Thank you. I've just learned that Mr. Speakman will be in San Antonio soon as well. I may go to that seminar, it will be on Kenpo 5.0 which I haven't seen but several students and my instructor went to a seminar last year where I believe he was introducing it. It sounds very good.

    To all:

I read a post stating you can order through his main website. Yes, that is true, Mr. Speakman want to get this out to all. He is just getting the credit to one of his schools. The schools are the distributors of the DVD's. You can visit his website www.jeffspeakman.com or my website at www.akksphoenix.com
His website is linked to his schools under locations and my website is linked to his by clicking on one of his patches while on my website.

You will be taken care of either way. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at cckkphoenix@yahoo.com

There are some clips up now at www.jeffspeakman.com of the Kenpo 5.0 material. It looks like some great applications of kenpo principles on the ground if you ask me.

Just as Mr. Parker's system of kenpo brought answers to the street fighters and popular judo moves of the 20th century this takes the same principles and uses it to beat the MMA fighters and BJJ moves that are popular today.

I'd be interested to here what everyone else thinks of the techniques...

    Take care,

    John

Ahh, you beat me by one hour. I am loading the clip now. Thanks to akksphoenix for starting this thread.
Now that I've seen the whole sample, I must advise everyone to be sure to watch the whole thing. The ending was great!

I think the techniques "catalog" some legit concerns and grappling scenerios......................I also appreciated the humor at the end of the clip!

interesting clip indeed. anyone tries to put their hand in my mouth and they can expect to lose some fingers. maybe it's doable, I'll find out soon. i'm going to Jeff's seminar in San Antonio w/ my TX Storm Kenpo family. Should be a GREAT time. his seminars are pretty high energy from what i hear so i'm pumped.

We did the gripping leaves one last night and it was cool. The fingers in the mouth is with their mouth closed. It's grabbing and squeezing the lower lip. You only have to do it for a minute because they will grab your hand, then you can do the rest of the move. It was really a lot of fun.

I must admit that I immediately bought the series. I'm a sucker, but it was really good stuff and I got it first hand. I like how he does the video on the clip. It's different and will take some getting used to, but it's interesting and clear. He's a good teacher.

Looks like I'll be there with Mr. Duffy and some of our other AKF Brown Belts.

I'm glad to hear about Amy meeting Mr. Speakman. I first met him in Sept 1991 and saw the Perfect Weapon that night. I think I have a post about this on Martialtalk somewhere if you want to go look it up.

Tell him I said hello. I wanted to talk to him about the new school he's putting up in our area, but I haven't gotten ahold of him yet.

(I just watched The Perfect Weapon yesterday afternoon, but dont' tell him that.)
