    Default Casey Sutherland

I am very pleased to announce that my student, our very own Casey Sutherland was promoted to 3rd Degree Brown Belt this evening.

After doing Long Form 3, and Blocking Set 2, and his techniques, he had to perform his Sai Form, then I attacked with a bokken randomly to see how much of the Sai work actually sunk in. Normally that would have been the end of his test but casey is an exceptional student so I pressed harder. I had random attackers come at him with what ever they wanted, then they started attacking with clubs, then knives lastly with guns, all these attacks and defenses were free form he did true Kenpo and just went with attakc and controlled his opponents. Lastly I handed him a cane and let people attack and he used the cane to defend himself by locking the attackers up with out getting tied up himself. He did an amazing job.

    Way to go Casey.

Very well put, after I got my first black I went back and looked at everything I knew and made it more efficient and effective. I am still doing it to this day.

    Casey!

    Dooodleeee doooo dooo dooooo.

There's nothing better than doing your absolute best on a test and having it be more than enough.

That's true on anything, but especially karate.

    Good job.
