Your post brought back some major memories and feelings, LOL.

I tested for mine in 1989 and reading your post and preperation actually gave me the same butterflys I felt 17 years ago!

I am sure you will do fine, love to hear the updates. Good luck!!

I'm testing for my second black on June 9th.

I too am going nuts practicing.

You're going to do great. Your black belt test is all about showing off what you already know.

You've been training and training and you know your stuff, so just go and strut your stuff.

You don't need luck. You've got your skill to depend on.

    Salute,
All the blue extensions and form 6.

Of course, I'll be asked to do some techniques from every belt level too. I'm testing at camp, so it's not that strict of a test. I've sort of been testing every time Darryl (my instructor) and I get together for a lesson. We usually run a card or two and he's seen my kata lots of times, so I know he's happy with it.

I believe I have to do some sparring too, but that's all good. I like sparring.

    How about you guys?

for my test i need the extentions to purple.. and long form 4.. im going to do staff set for my set.. cuz you have to preform your most recent form and set..

the board in Revere usually just calls basics for a warm up.. then sets and forms and then teqs.from yellow belt to what you are ranking for..

thanks for all the kind words..

Amy you are too sweet.. i know that you will do just fine on your test..

i hope to get some pics and stuff to post up here..

All blue belt extensions, form 6 and finger set 2 also a 5 page thesis of your choosing. Some random self defense from prior ranks.

As you know most of the true "testing" is done way before the actual test.

    Salute,
You need to do a thesis for second degree too? Or just first? I don't yet know finger set 2, but it's the first thing I'm going to learn after my test.

Yeah, some kind of paper for every black belt rank. We did staff set 1 and block set 2 at first.

I'm sure you'll do just fine. I would keep my fingers crossed for you but I think I may have broken them tonight while sparring...

I tested for my 1st black in 2001. Man that was the longest test I have ever taken. I had to do every technique, form and all the basics including foot menovers. They wanted us to spar and I would have done it but the guy I was testing with was almost 40 years old so by the time we were fininshed everything he couldn't really breath. Mind you I was 16 so I was still ok just sweating alot.

But this is excellent news and good luck on our test I am sure you will do great.

I'm with the others on showing what you know. Think of it as a demonstration.
