    Smile Kenpo Continuum Book 2!

Well, according to publisher Amy Long the new book, Kenpo Continnum Book 2, is accepting final contributions. Any kenpo black belt from any kenpo-related system with at least 10 years experience may be included by writing up their autobiography and submitting it.

The Kenpo Continuum Book 1 was fascinating with well over 100 black belts telling their always amazing stories about how they became involved in the arts, stories and tributes to their instructors, the many trials and tribulations they have gone through, and how kenpo has made a difference in their lives and the lives of others.

It will wrap up at the end of May so now is the time to write up your story. Come on now, don't be shy, start writing! Also, consider writing a tribute for your late teacher as well if you don't want to write about yourself. Information may be obtained from
Amy Long at the following website: www.kenpocontinuum.com.

The world is looking forward to reading your story!
    Thanks a lot,
    Prof. Carl Totton

    Good stuff, Sifu.
Clear mind, clear movement. Mastery of the Arts is mastery over the Self. That in this moment, this motion, the thoughts, memories, impulses and passions that cloud the mind must yield to the clarity of purpose, and purity of motion.

This is the latest list of entries, plus some special bios (surprise ones) of some deceased masters submitted by Carl Totton. He has been extraordinarily helpful and supportive of this project. The time is drawing near and I'm getting tired of it not being done, so I'm taking final submissions through the end of this month. After that, I'll be editing, doing the layout, then submitting it to the printer. I don't know that I'll be doing a volume 3, so this may be the last chance to get in one of them. If your story runs a little long, that's okay -- I'm being flexible about it. The cover is beautiful, I have several great quotes for the back of the book, and there are some great stories being submitted.

Remember, the stories aren't a brag-fest, they are a way of preserving history. Horn-tooting stories aren't accepted anyway, so please consider telling your tale. The world is made up of regular people, doing things they love doing, making a difference in the lives of those around them, and working on things with passion in their hearts. That's what the stories are about. For more info, you can email me at kenpokaratechick@gmail.com or go to http://www.kenpocontinuum.com.

I'm still accepting submissions through the end of this month. I've received 4 or 5 more, at least (including Dan Farmer's) and several more that have been promised. At that point, I'll run through the editing and send it off to the printer. Then all of those who are in it will receive their two copies and I'll have some available for anyone else interested.

The cover it beautiful. The quotes for the back are great and there are a lot of great biographies from deceased martial artists, as well as of those who are living. Carl Totton has been an outstanding help, as well as contributor to the book. I couldn't do it without him. I think you will all be pleased with the final results. I'll post a new list in the next day or two.

I want a copy! Wish Rob would agree to be in it. There will be a third one someday, right?

Probably not, no. I had hoped to get a bigger response to this one and it took me much longer to get people into it than last time. It's a lot of work and since it is largely a non-profit endeavor, I'm afraid I have to focus my attention on paying my bills. lol

This one is going to be awesome though. Carl Totton has written some outstanding biographies, as well as the many other stories that have been submitted.

So, he's got another few days -- try and talk him into it!

    Hi Everyone!

First of all, I'd like to say that the final proofs for the book have been sent to the printer. I should have them back very soon and I will be sending out all the pre-orders first and all the books to the people who are in the book.

Second, just as important, I'd like to apologize for this having taken so darn long. That was never the intention. I had some people send in stories and such right away and that was great, but getting the rest of the people to send them in was like pulling teeth.

I had really expected more people to send stories more promptly and just more people in general, but it took a lot of time and emails and facebook and such to make it happen.

Carl Totton was an amazing help with that and he included some fabulous tribute stories. I have updated the http://www.kenpocontinuum.com website with the new cover.

I've been posting updates on FB and I apologize for not following up here as well. When I saw how long this whole thing was taking, I did start telling people to just send the story and pay before we go to print, but that doesn't help those who already sent their money. For that, again, I do apologize.

The book proofs are on their way to the printer. The book is 290 pages. The photos are bigger in this one than the last one and the cover is gorgeous.

I will likely be confirming addresses with everyone soon to be sure that what I have from paypal or the checks sent is the current address.

I will be glad to get this off my plate and into everyone's hands. It's a great book.

The book is here, it looks beautiful and it's on its way to 2/3 of the people. I ran out of envelopes, but the rest should go out tomorrow.
I think these are the last addresses I need for the Continuum:

    Dennis Nackord
    Tom Georgion
    John P. Davidson
    Jerry Myers
    Rick Jeffcoat
    Jeff Sunderland

And a confirmation of how it was paid. I'm still searching through paypal and through envelopes of those who paid by check, so a confirmation would be great.

2/3 of the books have already gone out and those who are connected to Carl Totton have likely received theirs already. The rest will go out tomorrow, including the international ones.

The cover came out beautifully. If you decide you'd like a copy, you can get them athttp://www.kenpocontinuum.com. Justin Waggle did the cover and he did a great job. Dr. Carl Totton was instrumental in helping me get the book out. I owe him a debt of gratitude and I look forward to visiting him at the Whipping Willow Winter Gathering at the end of Nov.

    My copy arrived in Japan.
It's an interesting read and nice to put some names to faces and read about people with the same passion of Kenpo as I do. :-)
The cover artwork is great too.
Thank you Amy for your hard work.
    Cheers Dom :-)
