To Brian: cool stuff. We'll have to get that drink soon. I'm due to come back to that area in July to discuss some business with the folks at your rival dojo

To Martin: I see that these avatars are becoming the vogue now LOL.

I hear ya man. When I saw how spiffy yours looked I emailed Edmund and got a custom one of my own. He does a great job!

Naaaah, your kicks don't suck, they were simple yet effective. I saw that you scored a few times with those kicks so they can't be bad. You'd be surprised how far a simple front or side kick can carry you in competition.

The only thing I'd suggest is to try not to "Peter Pan" so much (leaping into the air unnecessarily) when you strike. Unless it's an actual aerial technique you are doing, try as much as you can to move laterally (especially forward) when you strike, instead of up. Other than that, great fighting and congrats on your win!

Looked pretty good. Do you have a TKD background?
Be careful what you say, some may take it the wrong way.

no actually i dont. iv only done Kenpo of the AKKI style.. i am (for the most part naturally) pretty flexable. i dont normally do all that bouncy stuff.. but i wanted to try it out for a change.. actually im mostly prone to jamming the other person up with my forearms and shins

thankyou for the advice. iv been trying to work at getting off angle, then exploding back in.

recent clips at the OC Classics this past saturday.. glad the matches weren't to long, i was exhausted from that week.

ill have some of my sparring practice (much more interesting) at school up when i can compress them smaller, edit out the gaps in which there's talking/advice giving, and either sync the audio to the video, or decide to kill the audio..

as you can see, im not really used to the back kick in a sparring situation yet i like our back kicks.. most ppl do spinning.. ours are straight back.. a fun surprise for the unknowledged.. at least if you can aim it/time it :-p
