Default New "On the Mat" - Topic 29: Twist of Fate

    Fellow Kenpoists,

As I mention in the beginning of clip, I apologize for the break between the most recent OTM clips. We are back on track and there are a few projects in the works; including, a directory of all the past OTM clips we have produced.

I do hope you enjoy the most recent release and, as always, I appreciate any and all feedback.

    Good journey and train hard!

looking good Mr. Ryer! Have you considered collecting the on the mats onto a DVD or video? I personally would be interested in getting a hold of a copy.

Interesting contact manipulation on the first variation! I like the explainations and considerations versus parting wings from twist of fate!

Nicely done Mr. Ryer. I had to use IE instead of Firefox.

I did have a question re: the extension if you are taking him down all the way to his back as v. his coxyx, and your ability to implement the switches and backup mass while supporting his spine with the lead leg. But overall I like the effectivness of the version you use. It is the same I use. I do teach that you ensure all the "slack" is out of the arms also, so that essentially you created a base and when you shuffle a break is ensured if they do not "twist."

Great job- thanks!! It's funny, cuz I watched the clip and thought- wow!! That footage of Broken Gift- lifting the arm first before going under is just what Mr. Planas went over in the last seminar I was at........then I realized you were also in the Parker/Planas lineage when I looked at your profile.........no wonder it seemed so similar!! Thanks and keep up the good work!
