    Default The 2Man Set Diaries

Here are a handful of clips of Dawn and I ATTEMPTING 2Man Set. It's going to be a while before we nail that. Yes yes I noticed that my handswords look like CRAP! Gotta love video .. they tell the truth.

The last clip was very good. Great intensity. I can't wait for Casey to learn this form so we can have lots of fun with it.

I was very impressed by the smoothness of the transitions. It flowed very nicely. You and Dawn did very well.

Probably more than that missing. We're a little more vocal in the last clip.

Thanks crip. It needs a ton of work yet. She's testing on this set in May and wants it to be relly sharp so we have a ways to go. It's certainly not competition or test ready, but we have a few months yet to get it there.

You guys look great. I can tell you really practiced from the first (hidden, only put up for a minute) clip.

    You are fabulous.

    real nice camey! good job!

i love 2-man set, or as my wife Donna calls it "2 person set"! She taught it to me this past summer and we did it together at the October WKKA Camp in Baltimore for her 2nd Degree test. i got to figure out how to load that sucker up from VHS to share with you'se guys...

Two man, ehr, "person" set is like a journey back to the roots of Kenpo!

Really bad to see how my fingers are so spread apart doing the first handsword. This video capturing thing forces you to deal w/ your bad form.
It's okay... I just wanted to share with you guys the journaling we've been doing. It's so far from where it needs to be still for her test. If you have some suggestions or corrections throw'm at me. Pwetty Pwease.

It is great that you guys are moving fluently but maby you need to emphisize minor and major movements. THERE IS NO SMILELING IN KENPO lol.

    Hey pk,
Do you have any footage of this set? I seriously have never seen it executed except at the dojo where I am at - oh - and in the Secrets of Chinese Kenpo. I have no frame of reference other than that.

I wish I had footage. I have barerly anything on kenpo except for Kill the Golden Goose. I have no clue where to get anything else that is not too expensive.

    Hey Guys and Gals,

Here is some footage for you of this set. When I was up at the IKC's in Boston in 2003, I got a chance to work with this guy, Dave Staples, what an awesome kenpoist. Here is some footage of him and a partner doing 2-man set and I think you can also pick up Long 6 here as well.

I think they won first place with this form. They do it slow first, then at full speed and boy they look terrific.

    Enjoy!

    Donna

I have black and white footage of SGM Parker performing it on a tape. I need to go to Best Buy and get a ton of stuff. I planned on "ripping" some stuff from VHS and DVD. If/When I get around to it I could post that as well.....if I remember. LOL.

Cool, I've never seen anyone else outside of the dojo do it before. They've got some fast hands. Thanks Donna.
