    Default My clips

Here are some clips that were filmed back in August on a very hot night after class.

Just go to my website http://www.dynamickenpo.ca and go the bottom link and click on videos. Most are free form defenses, but tehre are a couple EPAK techniques in there as well. You will need quick time to view the clips.

Good job on the clips Rob.

Your techniques are definitely different than ours. It's interesting to see.

On backbreaker, do you not do a step-through or did you just not do a step-through?

Looks like you beat the who who out of your opponent though.

Only 3 of them were actual techniques the rest were free form. He would attack with what ever and i would do what felt natural. On the version of back breaker I ended up being to close for a step through.

Casey knows how to take a shot or two.

Ah, so maybe your backbreaker isn't quite as different. You guys do the palmheel to the kidney too? If I remember right, you did.

I do that too. I think I learned it from the Tracy System because nobody else does it at my school.

    I love that move.

Thank you for sharing the clips, they are motivational. Itís funny I was watching them here at work and a few of the guys I work with have no idea what Kenpo is about. I guess they just thought that when I go to class we just talk Japanese and jump around making sound effects. But when they saw your clips they were in AWE and asking if you seriously injured the guy you were working with LOL.

I do have a newbie question and please donít take this wrong as I am just looking to improve my knowledge of Kenpo. It the clip Rear Bear Hug I had to slow it down to slow motion to see it but one of the last moves you did was a jumping front snap kick. I wanted to ask if that is part of the technique or was that something that you added yourself? It looked cool and would be quite devastating but wouldnít it have more power if one foot stayed planted on the ground? Anyway just wanted to say thanks for sharing the clips it always helps to keep me motivated seeing what I can learn to do if I keep at it long enough.

I really enjoyed the clips, thank you.
I especially liked how once you dealt with the initial attacks you blazed forward amid the what can only be described as a formidable barrage of strikes. I learned something...thanks.

The rear Bear Hug technique was free form defense. I just let him attack, and I dealt with it as it felt natural. when Casey puts a bear hug on you you know it,and he really jars you abd tries to throw you off your game just a real attacker would. The litte jumping kick, was more to change his direction of fall, all the power moves were done by that time, and he was just in the path of falling towards me.

Wow- I was able to see a couple... I liked the "Right Hook" defense!

I am horrible with computers, can I use footage taken on my Digital camera and post that? The quality is poor but it might be interesting...???

Rob- Great to see you in action... I am not familiar with the techniques but I am sure they would hurt

    Cheers Everyone!
The above is just my opinion.

Surprisingly enough i wasn"t sore the next day much at all. The clips were fun to send home to mommy and daddy and let let them know what most of there money is used for.

We"ll probably get some more clips up eventually, We just taped a sai form for a tournament that I am using later in the year. I"ll get on to posting that

Ok Rob... I checked out your site and surfed around... what's with this?

    http://www.cafepress.com/dynamickenpo

As you scroll down... you'll notice the "Classic Thong" with the DynamicKenpo Logo...

Might I be so bold as to recommend you have the name changed to "Traditional Thong" in keeping with our heritage.

    Cheers,
