Personal Goals for 2008

What are your personal goals for 2008?

They can be anything from getting the few belts, to gaduating college, to inally paying off the mortgage, to just about anything else. The only goal we don't need to see is the one that we all share and that is to be around to make goals for 2009 and beyond.

I would suggest that you set several small attainable goals than one major goal.

My goals for 2008 are:

• grow my school to 20 students
• attend 3 camps/seminars/events
• teach at 2 seminars/camps events
• have one student reach Blue Belt by year end
• compete 2-4 times
• finish my book on kids games for the martial arts school
• finish my bookon fundraising for the martial arts school
• finish the damned fantasy novel I have been writing for 10 years
• meet face to face with 5 people from Kenpotalk that I have never met before
• go camping at least once
• get out fishing at least 5 times
• get out golfing at least 5 times
• take on one students that needs the stability of a school atmosphere to better their lives
• pay off my family members who helped me get the ball rolling in Sarnia
• get together with my top student Casey Sutherland at least 2 times

My goals:

• pay off my car loans
• pay off my attorney for my divorce
• get a business started
• lose 100 pounds
• go camping twice this year
• adopt my foster son

and my personal favorite...

• hopefully start dating again

So how did everyone do.

I met some of my goals and some just didn't hapen


Succesfully met goals:

• grow my school to 20 students
• attend 3 camps/seminars/events
• teach at 2 seminars/camps events
• have one student reach Blue Belt by year end
• take on one students that needs the stability of a school atmosphere to better their lives
• meet face to face with 5 people from Kenpotalk that I have never met before

Goals not met:

• compete 2-4 times - only made it to one tournament and referreed that day
• finish my book on kids games for the martial arts school - could not get the proper amount of time to devote to finishing the book
• finish my bookon fundraising for the martial arts school - could not get the proper amount of time to devote to finishing the book
• finish the damned fantasy novel I have been writing for 10 years - original notes and hand written material up todate was destroyed when apartment was flooded
• go camping at least once - couldn't get away from the school long enough for a good camping trip
• get out fishing at least 5 times - 3 out of 5
• get out golfing at least 5 times - never made it once luckily my game sucks so no one will notice
• pay off my family members who helped me get the ball rolling in Sarnia - a fair portion paid off
• get together with my top student Casey Sutherland at least 2 times - neither of our schedules allowed to see each other
