I thought this was amazing...the Mantis ate the hummingbird while dangling upside down!

THAT would be funny...the Mantis gives a contented burp...only to get eaten by another bird...

    Hey Billy,

I haven't seen you posting anywhere for months. Did I just miss them or have you been laying low for a while?

That's pretty funny Billy. I hope you're doing well. You were my wife's favorite teacher when you were at Mr. Tatum's studio. Are you training at Bryan Hawkin's studio now?

Nope. I'm not really studying anywhere right now. I've actually just started training on my own again.

Thank you for the compliment. If you don't mind my asking, what was your wife's name? (It'll help jog my memory... I knew most of my student's on a first name basis.)

Also, are you training over at Mr. Tatum's studio or somewhere else in the area?

Her name is Mary. She was a white belt and was officially Mr. Tatum's student, but he had you teach her when he couldn't. (I'm the 46 year-old with the beard)

I've just recently begun trainging with Ron Chapél. It's fascinating and quite challenging.

Question Re: Praying Mantis Eats Humming Bird

    Chris,

Are your training with both Chapel and Tatum or just Chapel now?

Just wondering if I might expect to see you at Larry Tatum's Las Vegas camp next year?

    Cheers brother.

    Hi Jamie,

I'm training just with Dr. Chapél now, but I am still planning to go to Mr. Tatum's Las Vegas camp. I still have friends at the Tatum school and I wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to learn from Lee Epperson and Mike Lambert as well.

    See you then,

    Chris

This is the kind of politics I like to see. Everyone getting along and being friendly, regardless of lineage/instructor.
Just because you do something one way, does not mean that everyone else does it that way, or that it is even the correct way.

...and who would have thought that a praying mantis eating a hummingbird would been what brought everyone together

Thumbs up Re: Praying Mantis Eats Humming Bird

Although I feel sorry for the poor hummingbird...
Yay for the praying mantis! (for bringing Kenpoists together)

No she's not. She tried it to challenge herself when she turned 40. She liked it a lot, except for the fighting, getting hit, bruised, etc...you know everything except for the "karate" stuff LOL.

Actually it's from "People are Strange" by The Doors. Yeah, it's a weird song.
