    Default Second thoughts about Elvis

    Dear Kenpo brothers and sisters:

A while back I caused a fuss on this forum when I brought up the point that I thought that Mr. Parker's promotion of Elvis to high rank was purely political. I still believe that politics had a good deal to do with his high Kenpo rank but I no longer believe that he was totally undeserving of recognition for his knowledge of the arts. I read some remarks posted by Chuck Norris and his mentioning of the "Memphis Mafia" that made me reconsider. Chuck also taught Priscilla as I'm sure you all know. He stated that her kicks were very effective as she had a background in ballet. She also learned to "rumble" by kicking with her high heel shoes on in order to make her training more "streetwise" as she wore heels most of the time.
She also sparred without protective head gear to add to the realism.
    What a cool lady!

What I also didn't know was that Bill Wallace taught at the school that Elvis started in Memphis.

I recently read the Journey. The longest story was on the King. I didn't

know that much about him and Kenpo until then.

Yes, I have a copy and found it to be very interesting; read it in one day. Btw, Priscilla also took lessons from Sibok Tom Kelly (the reason she left & went to Chuck Norris' school is mentioned, as well as her affair with Mike Stone, one of Norris' Black Belts.)

Mr. Parker talks about his friend fondly and honestly, with some rarely seen photos included. He discusses things Elvis loved, was afraid of, and of course, what led to his downfall.

If you want to buy it, it's on sale here.

We got to know Pricilla when she used to come to tournaments with Mike Stone. He was one of the great fighters of that Era,Doc and Doc John and i are all old enough to remember Mike. They aren't aging,Just me. Pricilla used to give out the kids trophies with a kiss. All the adults tried to get in line. Didn't work though.
    Thanks for the memories.

    I am Most Respectfully,

The first album I owned was "Girls, girls, girls." I was in the 2nd grade. Elvis was the man.
