I know, it sounded as if something would come together today and its too bad it didn't. I can't believe they canned the whole season, not good for hockey.

Was it greed from owners, or players?

probably a little bit of both.....I think professional athletes are paid too much anyways. Too much value is placed in them playing a game for our entertainment lol but it is damned addictive to watch!

I think that more fault lies with the players, but I could be wrong. Many teams weren't covering their expenses and the players didn't want to give up any percentage of the revenues they were receiving, something like 75% to help with costs. They should just start a new league from scratch if you ask me. Then we might at least see pro hockey in some form in the next couple years.

You are right, they are all way over paid, but one can hardly blame the players for trying to get more of the money that they make the leagues...why should the owners get the biggest chunk of cash when its the players risking injury that people are coming to see? If thats not enough, look at what a typically good college football team will earn a school in a season....those kids get nothing other than an education, and most of them have to pay for that...
You are right though...man its addictive!!!!
