    Default UFC Predictions

    Ok UFC fans...

    Sept 23/06:

Matt Hughes vs. BJ Penn.....I am callng for a Hughes win.

And on Oct 10th, live on Spike TV, how long does everyone think it will take for Tito Ortiz to defeat Ken Shamrock? Or does anyone think Shamrock can win?

    Talking Re: UFC Predictions

    Hughes definitely (tongue in cheek)!
I think Shamrock can take a beating and the ref will let him take it this time. Look for a late round stoppage or a unanimous decision.

Is it too late to make my prediction on this one?

Okay...so we know what happened there, how about this upcoming re-match with Hughs vs GSP ? Any thoughts ?

I think the only thing that might come between Matt Hughs and Victory is the fact his stand-up game has been steadily improving and he's really wanting a Knockout on his record. So he may try to stand toe-to-toe with GSP and that might prove detrimental to the outcome from Matt. If he sticks to his game and what works for him, I think he should take GSP, although I suspect it will be a good war.

Curious to hear what anyone else thinks?

I'm going with Hughes. I just have not seen anyone in UFC that matches up with him. I'd love to see him fight Andrei "The Pitbull" Arlovski. Or better yet get him in a ring with Fedor Emeilaneko from Pride Fighting Championship. I know neither of those guys are in his weight class but for old times sake a no weight class fight like in the beginning of UFC.

When I was living in Japan I was able to see two of the Pride FC events and was hooked, so I'm more partial to the style of Pride.

Hughes has to win because I can't stand listening to that other guy talk and if he wins I'll have to hear more of him.

Being that I am from Canada, I am predicting that George St. Pierre will win but it will be one heck of a tough fight. Both are fantastic fighters.

The last Hughes fight went exactly as I thought. Penn was the better fighter early on but Hughes had much better endurance so I picked Hughes if Penn couldn't take him out early.

I guess I'll have to go with St Pierre (just because I like the strikers), but if Hughes gets his hands on him it could get ugly fast.

That a boy Ken! BTW - did you receive my email the day after the testing?

I haven't heard from you yet.

Not at all. There's just something about the way HE talks actually. I can't put my finger on it... but it's like nails on a chalk board.

Not that I wouldn't mind seeing Hughes taken down a notch or two (I think his head's gotten a bit large) but I don't think Pierre is the guy to do it. TBPH I don't really care either way.

I'd much rather watch san-chou instead of half-naked sweaty men rolling around on the mat with each other. ...."shudders"..... lol

    How about Lidell vs Ortiz?

That is a great fight. Ortiz is one tough dude who trains like none other but I am going to have to pick Liddell in this one because of Chuck's punching power and accuracy.

Well...dunno about that, but if you'd like tosee how Hughes does against a haeavy wieght, here's an Abu-Dabi-dooby-do fight between Hughes and Tito Ortiz. Mind you this is strictly a grappling match, so not uber exciting, but lookit how cute li'l Matty looks next to Tito. Kind of interesting.

BTW...did I fail to mention these are considerably less experienced versions of both Matt Hughes and Tito Ortiz.

I know Ortiz is a great grappler, but I still think if it went to the map Hughes would ground and pound!
