    Default What's your "Pet-Peeve"?

...so...I'm standing in line at the convience store waiting to pay for my Gatoraid. I feel hot breath on my neck and worse yet, I can smell it. Oniony-cigarette-and-God-know-what-else breath. I absolutely hate people that have no respect for my personal space. I get quite irrate actually. So...I turn to face the stink-tard-stranger-to-a-toothbrush and he just grins at me, with all 3 of his green teeth, like it's perfectly natural for another man to want to press his body against the back of another.

The "look" I gave him apparently was not adequate to send the message to back off so I said, "Hey buddy...do you mind?" Utilizing all of my Kenpo-discipline to try and be nice. I swear to God, he tilted his head to the side like the proverbial clueless pup and was like, "huh?". I kind slipped a little here and I think I raised my voice a little and said, "BUBBLE!" while making a circular motion with my free hand to demonstrate the proper distance one should respectfully allow another human being within one's personal vicinity.

I still don't think he "got it" but at that point I guess he figured me for a psycho and at least backed off. You folks don't think I was out of line do you? LOL Oh well...

...anyway... I hate people that don't respect my space...especially in a line. That's one of my big pet peeves....what's one of yours?

No- I don't think you were out of line........but he might not have understood "Bubble".....maybe "Could you give me some more space?" or "Please don't stand so close to me" would have been a bit more clear.

    I have a lot of pet peeves......here's a few....

~ When you hold the door open for someone and they walk thru with not even a glance in your direction......like that was your job.....to hold the door for them.

~ People who litter- especially when there is a garbage can nearby

~ Cell phones......arghh!! Must you really talk at ALL times? Restaurants, grocery stores= double arghh!!

    ~ George Bush.......enough said!!

I have to agree with the George Bush pet peeve, but I ould also have to say kenpo people that are always trying to defend other arts. If you do kenpo you are a Kenpoist. I understand there are other arts out there but I am a Kenpoit and I will always defend it to the grave. One of my students is always asking what I think about some things that he learned in a Kimite school. He likes to push my buttons and question me.

Oh my did someone ever open a can of worms on this one.

One is people who correct my spelling, if I make a msitake so be it.

The next one is people who aske the same stupid question multiple times but expect a different answer out of the blue.

My biggest is people who have nothing productive to say in a thread so they ruin it with a dumb ass comment. If you have nothing to say that is insightful or constructive - KEEP YOR MOUTH CLOSED.

LMAO........apparently you need to work on your "look." Maybe rent some Clint Eastwood videos and practice in the mirror.
    Sorry couldnt resist.

Actually this is a peeve of mine also. I really hate when people you dont know who are probably just over friendly take it to the next level and reach out and touch me. Takes a lot of restraint not to parry.

    Incompetence.

Makes me nuts. I hate it when it's other people's and I hate it when it's mine. I try to avoid it whenever possible.

I hate it when people are truly truly average and don't realize it. You can tell those people because they are not humble about their mediocre skills and go on and on about how great they are. Greatness needs not to have attention brought to it; it stands out on its own. In any area.

To Crippler: I hate crazy people in the store who wave their hands around trying to make bubbles. ( :P ) And what's wrong with never brushing their teeth? Maybe green is a comfortable color. And maybe you just smelled good. Who knows? You have a special allure to all people. Just deal with it.

    Amy,

It is a term for a person who talks up a particular martial art to point of trashing everything else, even though many times that person doesn't even train often or at all in the art they are praising. That is as nicely as I can put it with out getting into trouble. Afterall this is a family oriented forum. It usually has something to do with a person latching onto the anatomy of a male and riding on their success. In a manner of speaking of course.

    Back to work.

Sorry. My bad. I was referring to Celtic's experience in the store with his "look"

I do agree with you though as we have a couple of high school kids in 1 of the classes I attend who bug the crap out of a few of us always running their mouths about nothing.
