Default So far South your North again!

Just got back from a long (15 hour) drive to South Florida for a family wedding.

With three little kids the 10 hour drive turns to 15 and with many fast food stops on the way (as well as other stops).

Well we stop at Mc' D's in South Carolina ... sweet tea please. Georgia ... more sweet tea ... ahh just like home in NC.

Get to FLA. ... what would you like to drink with that? ... sweet tea please ... Hi C ? ... No, sweet tea ... Sir we only have un-sweet tea ... Uggg, OK Ill take an apple juice.

Glad to be back in North Carolina where the sweet tea runs like water!

BTW ... Are we there yet?

    Salute,

Oh the joys of traveling with family.
    Quality outweighs quantity every time.

Once upon a time I loaded my teenage daughters (then 13 and 16) into my Lincoln and made a drive from Nebraska to Key West and back.

    Surprisingly, nobody got hurt.

    LOL!

That was very far. Mine are 8, 3 and 1.5 years old.

I got ... Hey Dad what State are we in? Are we in the middle of the State or the beginning of the State or the End? What time will we get there? 10 hours ... 10 miles? OK. No, 10 hours. You said 10 o'clock why arent we there yet? No, its 10 hours. OH!, what State are we in? The baby starts crying then the 3 year old joins in for harmony, everyone needs juice a bio break or food within 30 minutes of each other but never at the same time ... got all that taken care of and ... Hey Dad what State are we in? ACK!!!! I feel 3 more black hairs turn grey. LOL.

Since I love so far up north (Michigan) I have not really been exposed to sweet tea too much. I have tried authentic southern sweet tea and I'm sorry to say I was not too impressed. It was alright I just think whoever was bragging about it to me built it up too much and it didn't live up to the hype. I know I probably just started a war by saying that but I didn't mean to step on any toes. So I guess I'll just have to wait for the bombardment from the sweet tea lovers to begin.

Like most things, sweet tea is not for everyone. You have those of us that had it in our baby bottles... I'm a huge fan of it. Then you have those that state they'd rather have their syrup with their pancakes.

My mom used to have to make barrels of it 'cause every kid in the neighborhood liked hers best! Every where else groing up you had the "kool-aid" house where the kids hung out. My house was the "sweet-tea" house. LOL

I have not had the opportunity to ever have tasted it. I'd would love to give it a try though, so if anyone ever finds themselves in the south west give me a call. I'll meet you somewhere.

Other than Ft. Lauderdale (once) and Phoenix (once) I've not been out of ohio. I work too fricking much. My lovely bride wants to go visit her uncle in Georgia. I'm not wanting to drive that far with kids in the car. Nope, couldn't handle it.

Yep, the drive from Carolina to Fort Lauderdale aged me 10 years due to the kids, LOL.

BTW I lived in Ohio for a few years, which part you from?
