If you go onto martial talk and seach Capoeira you'll find an essay I just posted that I wrote for my World music class. It describes the historical context of the berimbau and atabaque in historical context. Capoeria is actually much different than this clip. This clip is more so gymnastics with a martial feel. I love capoeira

That has to be done with mirrors. That seems to defy gravity.

How exactly does one learn to do that? How do you first say, Hey, I think I'll do several super large, flying through the air, kick-like things?

    I just don't get it.

I get a kick outta the gymnastical nature of some arts. If us fat guys could fly, I'd give it another try. (The last landing was a funny but painful one)

What I want to know is how do they keep from being DIZZY!!! I mean great.. they fly around in the air .. and might hit something, but when they land (if they land)... will they be able to stand and fight.

Many years ago, when I rode my brontosaurus to class, I could soem of most basic elements these guys are doing. It is amazing to me ehat teh human body can do whenpushed to its limits.

I know the gymnastics club where i live has open Trampoline times, and a coach that helps people work out complex motion like this in a step by step process.

I already have to cover myself in braces before a workout. I don't think my poor old abused joints could take that. Not to mention I too big to be hopping about like that. LOL.

I dunno, I mean, being able to leap and kick like that could have some practical applications. Kicking someone on a horse down, on a porch or higher stair case, plus the obvious theatrical applications.

I don't "feel" old really.... but my joints are always arguing with me about it. They just like to be difficult I guess. LOL
