    Default How are we doing?

Just wanting to touch base with all our members ro see how we are doing as a site. I have noticed that we have a lot of members with few or no posts at all, what can we do to make you guys get involved more.

It is you the members that drive the staff to make this a great place, your input is greatly appreciated.

I'm so happy to find a REAL Kenpo Forum. It takes me a bit to become familiar w/everyone, but when I do... look out... I might post as much as Celtic Crippler.
"Second chances they don't never matter, people never change
Once a whore you're nothing more i'm sorry that'll never change
And about forgiveness, we're both supposed to have exchanged
I'm sorry honey, but i'm passing up, now look this way...*" --Paramore "Misery Business"

I am waiting for someone to unseat me. But seriously is there anything needed to make this a better place?

I would like to see more technical discussions on Kenpo (ie. forms, sets, techniques).

Currently we have the Technique of the month, Principle of the month, and we are discussing Form of the month. One of the problems we see with technical discussions at times is closed mindedness where if you are not doing it one certain way then you are doing wrong. We want to avoid those types of attitudes because it hurts everyone.

But, don't let the worry about the possible problems ever stop anyone from starting a technical thread. If theres a problem, just hit the bat signal.

Gosh, that's a silly idea. What? Ohhh, MORE openminded.

I concur, I've already learned a number of things here on the technical side. For me, it's going to be a matter of translating techniques and terminology into what I know but that's already started.

Could one issue over involvement/posting be that newer students are intimidated my some of the extensively experienced people here? Just a guess. I have no problem blathering on, no matter who I'm talking to.

I think it's much the personality of the student.. I have students who from the get go constantly ask questions.. things that they just aren't ready for yet.. Some just don't know what to ask..
'others'.. they may have a code of conduct.. *such is one of our organizational codes*.. Ask your Instructor first.. and if they don't know.. they will find out from their Instructor.*

or maybe the student is just shy ...
Everyone is different.. which is a good thing

Rank does not denote intelligence. Take me for example. I hold the rank of 2nd black...and I'm dumb as a bag of hammers!

I've added a link on our dinky lil' website and have encouraged our students to post. So far only gimp has registered. She's a good egg.

I have learned much since I registered. This forum is a great resource for any Kenpoist regardless of rank or organization. We will forever be students and one of the best ways to learn (IMHO) is to expose yourself to different ideas... even in regards to a similar subject (like Kenpo). What easier way to accomplish this than by entering and posting in a forum with members from all over with various backgrounds?

I know there's a Technique of the Month but there's nothing stopping anyone from posting in regards to another technique...right? Or different principle or anything else for that matter. So....post away!!!!
