Anybody going to Tatum's Las Vegas camp?

It's going to be at the Stardust Hotel again in June, 2006.

I had a blast at the 05 camp, I would love to go in 2006 if the time and $ is available.

I put up a few pix from camp at http://linerssacramentokenpokarate.blogspot.com/

Scroll past the first 4 or 5 and you'll see the ones from camp.

More to follow when I'm in the mood. I can't figure out how to put them here or I would.

    I put a slideshow of 2004 and 2005 here: http://spaces.msn.com/linerskenpokarate/PersonalSpace/

I can hardly wait for this year's camp.

There's nothing better than walking around in your gi for 3 days with a bunch of other people doing the same thing.

And no kids. Did I mention no kids?

    Who else is going?

I would love to go again this year, but I don't think it's in the budget. Also the price of the camp went up and that didn't help, maybe next year.

Yeah, the price did go up. That was a huge bummer. I guess the cost of the food was more than he figured or he had hoped for more people.

I was just looking at the Stardust site to see about booking a room.

Okay, so it's the one time of year when I get some freedom and I'm bookin' early.

Camey and I are booked. Woo Hoo!

We're going to be there with bells on, wielding our practice knives.

    Anyone else signed up?

Camey and I are going early to go see the Star Trek exhibit on Thursday. I'm sure I"ll see many of you other Trekkies there.

I have never been to anything like this, but am considering going. However I do a different Kenpo than EPAK so....I have questions....
Open to any Kenpo people? Do I need to be a member of a certain organization or anything?
Since our school is different than EPAK will I be at a huge disadvantage? For example are the seminars dealing with concepts and principles OR is it breaking down of specific EPAK techniques and material etc?
    Any help would be appreciated.

It's open to anyone. What kind of kenpo do you do? Is it much different? The seminars usually deal with concepts, but specific techniques are brought out. Those who don't know them learn them right then. No biggie.

Its sort of a Parker/Tracy hybrid. All the techniques and names are different. Some are very similar, some are completely different as far as I can tell. Like, we have a technique called Glancing Blades which as far as I can tell is Five Swords. Then I will see another EPAK technique which starts out looking like one we do then goes on to something different.
Not knowing alot about EPAK material I guess I am not sure just how different we are...
For the sake of a comparison what would you say to a Tracy stylist asking the same question? I would imagine we are about as different from EPAK as Tracy is...

You will be fine there and I highly recommend that you attend. Larry Tatum is one of the best Kenpoists on the globe, and you'll learn a ton of information from the instructors.

If you show up early on the Thurs. before, maybe you'll catch us and can come along.

We'll trek to the the Trek. It's a really cool exhibit. I haven't seen the latest upgrades. It's ongoing at the Hilton.
