    Default Kenpo World Championships

Lee Epperson is putting on the Kenpo World Championships in Maryland on August 9-14th, 2006.

    It looks really great.

The site for it is www.kenpo2006.com.

    Ewwww.......an adult submission grappling tournament.....=)

Do you have to be a member of LTKkA to participate or attend?
Also, do you know who's gonna be there? There's nothing listed under "Seminars."

I am honored to be one of the guest instructors at the event, but of course, Larry Tatum is teaching, and his skill surpasses any of the "Kenpo Seniors" that I have seen.

The tournament should be awesome. Lee Epperson is hosting it, so you can bank on it being awesome.

Some of our students expressed an interest in going last night when I mentioned it. It's only about a 12 hour drive so we may just pack up a van and drive up. =)

We haven't mapped out details yet. I printed the flyer from the website along with directions from mapquest and posted it on the bulletin board at our school.

I was really surprised at the responses I've been getting. Everybody has expressed a desire to go!

Glad to see so many responses!

Lee Epperson is a hoot. Love the guy. He is quite ambitious at creating an amazingly huge event.

He had a list of approx. 28 guest instructors listed. I have no idea how we're all supposed to pick which seminars to go to. How are we supposed to choose? Especially if we don't know the instructors. We might miss something fabulous. Ugh. I need my time-traveling watch like Hermione had.

The tournament should be something too. (To toot for a second -- Lee is giving me the honor of singing the National Anthem on the Saturday of the tournament.)

I'll be excited to meet all of you there too.

"Sounds" like you'll be easy to find. LOL.

I got an e-mail from them saying that they would be posting additional info soon. (rules for the tournie's and schedules) I keep checking the site daily waiting for them to post. lol

I went to the site and he has the tournament schedule listed and now you can register for the event. It's $150 for the seminars and $35 for the tournament.

It seems like a ton of people are going to be there.

I don't know about staying for so many days though. With the 6 hour flight each way, that adds 2 days travel.

I'm still really excited about going.

Besides, I've never been to the East Coast. Love the accents.

My girlfriend says I have an accent. I hear it sometimes. I am from Baltimore but sometimes I sound like I am from the south.

Now that's awfully tempting. Especially in August. The only thing I'm thinking is that hotels will be a killer.

Don't even get me started. We're in GA... it's called Southernese. If I make it to MD, Amy, you can pick on me. From what I hear, I have quite a good twang.

Actually when a southern person says twang it comes out as tawang.

Yup, when we git ta Merry-lund, y'all kin make fun uhv ah-er axe-sents. Duh-huh.

There used to a book titled, "How to Speak Southern." Perhaps you may be able to find it online. Y'all can study up on it before the event. LOL.

Believe it or not, there are actually different Southern accents depending on what state you're in.
