Mr. Planas will be in Hudson, New Hampshire this week. Hudson Kenpo has a seminar scheduled on Saturday ~ August 6, 2011.

No topic has yet been decided upon; but it may be a Problem Technique class. Problem technique seminars are always a great time to uncover what the technique is intended to demonstrate, variations upon the techniques, relationships to other techniques, and the pitfalls of doing, and teaching the technique in question.

Contact Mr. Hogan at Hudson Kenpo to reserve your spot. Look forward to seeing you there.

(P.S. I am bumping this earlier thread ~ as I can not create a new thread in the Event Forum).

Just a quick note related to yesterday's seminar.

Our group was a bit smaller than usual, but included students from yellow belt through advanced black.

Discussing the manuals, and the "Book Version" of the technique, Mr. Planas informed us that each written technique actually included many variations that were to be presented to the student, by the instructor, on the mat. He chose to use the technique Broken Gift to demonstrate this aspect of Kenpo. He first presented the base technique, one piece at a time. Where needed he taught and corrected body mechanics to teach correct application of power principles. After the book version of the written technique was presented, he presented a B version, and then a C version, a D version. E, F and G versions followed. It was an excellent afternoon of in depth analysis of contact manipulation within one of the techniques of our system. There were quite a few sore wrists, elbows and shoulders ~ but no one was permanently damaged.

And, as always, the party after class had great food and great fun for all.

Next years visits were scheduled for May and September.

He must have been doing his zoning class. I had the unfortune to be on the end of probably variation D. That's when he said, "Whoops, I didn't mean for you to run into my knee". lol Good times, just wished he used someone else for that part. lol

The summer is passing quickly, and suddenly, the Sign-Up Sheet has re-appeared at the Hudson Kenpo Front Desk.

Huk Planas is coming back for a Seminar on 8 September 2012. No topic has been decided. As always, whatever Mr. Planas delves into, will be insightful and useful. The seminar is expected to start at 1:00 pm, and generally runs 3 hours, or slightly longer. Afterwards, there is always a get together for all attendees.

Mr. Planas is known as the Instructors Instructor and the Encyclopedia of Kenpo. He was Executive Vice President of Mr. Parker's IKKA for many years. If you've not been on the training mat with Mr. Planas, please consider this invitation from Hudson Kenpo. Don't miss you opportunity to see Mr. Planas in the Northeast.

To reserve your space at the seminar, please call Mr. Hogan at Hudson Kenpo.
