Planas Seminar - Hudson, NH - September 8, 2007

Hudson Kenpo will be hosting Mr. Planas on September 8th.

The seminar will begin at 1:00 PM. The cost is $50.00. Usually, this is for a two and a half hour seminar. If there are not private lessons scheduled after the seminar, Mr. Planas adds time as he sees fit.

A couple of intersting thoughts. When clicking the thread title under the 'New Posts' view, I do not have the ability to EDIT my post (even within the first 60 minute time limit).

Also, the reminders on the calendar can only be set out three days. If those reminders could be set out for 1 week, or 2 weeks, it may also be helpful to make the calendar tool more useful - maybe.

In the days preceeding this seminar, Mr. Planas, Mr. Hogan, and a few folks from the school are going to be out fishing on Lake Ontario. These fishing trips tend to put everybody in a good mood. So we are expecting a super seminar.

Of course, Mr. Planas, and Mr. Hogan, welcome everyone on to the matt; regardless of lineage or instructor.

Status Report ...

On Saturday afternoon, Mr. Planas presented the Two Man Set in depth to a seminar of perhaps 30 students. Hudson Kenpo hosted students and instructors from several schools in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Huk finds the Two Man Set a useful tool to present how to use footwork to properly guage distance for effective attacks. All Two Man Sets teach students to read, and reach targets on active opponents.

If you have seen Huk's Two Man Set Tape with Ingmar, you have seen much of what the Seminar was about, but he also presented a couple of other applications within the set. (such as 'arm breaks', and 'slipping weapons').

It was a great deal of fun. Many of the students from Hudson Kenpo are learning and working this set for their upcoming black belt test. I think they gained much from the deliberate pace of the training. Others, including me, refined the applications in the Set.


After the seminar, Mr. Hogan hosted any and all seminar guests to a house party. Mr. Planas played guitar to every song known to man, and David (one of the students) knew every lyric ever written.
