Good stuff Jason. For those that can afford the travel, this camp would be awesome. It is great to see Jason Arnold, from London, Ontario, teaching once again at the camp. That is a great honour Jason, and you deserve it.

Sounds like a great line up of instructors. I've attended seminars with Mr. Whitson & Ms Tanaka and they are top notch. Just amazing instructors. Best wishes on the success of the camp.

Sounds like a blast Jaybacca, have lots of fun, say "Hi" to the Swede for me, and keep "Sumo-Tim" out of trouble.

no tim this time rob, going solo not even the wife is going. thanks for the compliments guys i appreciate it. i will be teaching the kids kicking set 1 and applying different pad drills to it for application, adults locks and controls, pad drills aswell seems that is a popular topic with me i guess that is because i have a ton of drills in the old noodle. the really great part for me is being able to hang with ingmar for his 40th b-day and train with all the other instructor's and students. it most definitley is an honor for me to go and teach on the same card as my seniors. the other great part is doing private training with huk all week just ingmar,me and huk that is awesome.

i will have a blast rob thanks, this trip should be a great one we have new people attending from england, ireland, scotland, germany, spain, denmark, nor way, france, algeria and even russia. the parker/planas lineage in europe is growing in leaps and bounds thanks to the effort of ingmar johansson and his students and supporters. on a side note it is also ingmars 20th year anniversary for his school and his 40th b-day so this trip should rock and i will definitely keep you informed.

Could you explain me the difference between Lock Flow and Pad Drills?
Yep, Ingmar is great person and only because of his openess and sociality I decided to come to the Camp after our meeting in december.

    see you there,

the lock flow is a series of locks that can be performed in stand up or ground or kneeling positions. mostly stand up then i will proceed to do take downs with them in the lock flow 2 class. the pad drill class will be a good workout on the focus pads and thier proper use as a training tool. we will be doing some ground pad work, thai and kenpo using pads for realistic striking.
    hope that helps

Thumbs up Re: viking camp in SWEDEN

thanks for the kind words kenpostart.!

once again ingmar pulls off the camp of the year! first let me say that it was an honour and a previledge to teach there and they participants worked very hard and the instruction was tops.

this is from my perspective only because i was teaching but i did get to attend some classes in between.

day 1- i helped Dian Tanaka Whitson with her class on beyond the ideal phase which was a really good class and topic it is too bad she had a shoulder injury and couldn't move much but she still did an awesome job.

i taught my lock flow class which had a very good response with about 30 people in my class, with people from all the different countries.

day 2 - before the camp started at ingmar's house zach whitson and myself trained for a couple of hours in the backyard working out with the sticks, needless to say i got my ass handed to me but awesome training with zach i learned alot and highly recommend working out with him if you ever get the chance. thanks zach i had a great time!

i taught a kids class with about 20 kids of different ranks,we did some empty hand drills for co ordination and i finished with them doing some grappling it was awesome and everyone had a good time.

in the afternoon i attended Graham Lelliot's class on position recognition and it was awesome his layed back teaching style and the way he teaches one has to experience. we worked blocking set 1 as a self defense with some rearrangement and we worked all the categories on lone kimono with some grafting at the end. what a fantastic instructor to work with. thank you to my partners from spain and to mattias ingmar's number 1 guy we had a blast rocking the techniques hard with no injuries.

    on a side note mattias(sweden),johnny(denmark)and thomas(denmark) all
graded for thier second degree black in front of huk, ingmar, and myself and let me say they did a great job!! well done brothers.

my next post will be on zach's stick class, emanuelle hart's knife class, ingmars analyzation class,my pad work class and our private training with huk and zach on 2 man techniques and pekiti tirsia.

all i can say is thank you ingmar and kenpo self defense studio sweden you guys have the best camp and i am just proud to be apart of it all,i can't wait till next year.
