    Default Motobu Sensei

    Hello,

Not sure if this is the appropriate place and if i am in the wrong I am sorry to the moderators.
Chosei Motobu Sensei will be in this summer teaching and i have found many of his things quite interesting. Coming from a Kempo background, I had to stop and think of the Mastery which he has already shown me on the explosion of the first move. We have been taught and still do that this is important but then we add on as many strikes as possible. When i workd with Motobu Sensei it was just focusing on that first move. Man it was great to be thrown to the ground by a 80 year old master.
    In Peace

It's funny when a master like that can dump you with one or two movements, it makes all of that hitting superfluous.

Your story reminds me of Mas Oyama's quote (which I'm sure I'll mangle) which says the most important part of karate is a strong right.
