History you either love it or hate it. I guess it depends on whose ox is getting gored.

Those travel permits are real sticklers, or so it seems. HHMMM how can I get around that? Assassinate his character or there's as a whole is a good one.

The guys that really like to debate are gone and now we have one liners.

Oh well take what you can get.

Think about the Pine tree and the tidal pools

Like finding wheat in the chaff, out of 300 words which ones are coherent? Dollars and donuts. Finding a needle in a haystack is rough, especially when you keep adding hay

    Hi Kai,

    Boy that is the truth.

Went to the Gathering this weeked. Some real old timers were there. Everyone was dressed and worked different techinques. I just had a good time. I dressed in my usual relaxed mode, talked to the old timers and took some pictures or had some taken.

It was a good time. The needle is so big I can't pick it up and the hay is now gone. Nice to talk to people who were on the Islands at the time of conception. Or at least the passing of the gavel. Mitose to Young.

I slipped away and went to the Local sports event center Sat night. Saw Toney defend his Honor. Tough guy.

Japanese Kempo if that is what some call it goes back to Old Pine Tree.
Is that what you are talking. I sure saw a lot shirts that said that.

The pine tree was a big thing in the Chinese arts also. Pine forest etc.

Tidel pools, talk about that subject.

Did you just see the news about the underwater exploration of a large city that was covered with water long ago and in a far away place? How about the Black Forest and Sherwood Forest.
Legends are really interesting when they are found to have merit.

Shawn, It was good. I will try later to give a run down in the correct thread if there is one.

    Gary

    Hi Kai,

I have been posting on other threads as to who was there.

I got to talk to Shihan Mike Brown. He prefers to be called Sensei. Really a nice guy, had some good information. He is going to be writing a book some day so I am not able to talk much of what he said. Good practioner.

Hanshi is doing what Hanshi does best. Promoting the art as he see's fit, that he received permission to do, from GM Mitose.

Pretty good turnout considering the amount of people studing and training in different styles etc. I really thought the Gathering went well lots of people showing their stuff, Hanshi included.

I really enjoyed the FMA people who were there. I saw an interesting performance put on by Sifu Bill Owens and some of his students. Really cool. "Kusema Vijiti" ( The talking sticks).
I like Escrima, Kali and Arnis. The stick or the empty hand is fine.

Quite a few Guros were there that teach the Angel Cabalas Escrima system.
Guro Ron Saturno, Guro JoJo Soriben, and Guro Carlito Bonjoc Jr. It was a real pleasure seeing them there. ( I have been tutored by each of them).
Sensei Pat Kelly was there (my friend and teacher, of course).
My son and I enjoyed ourselves.
Sensei Kelly Keltner was there and his buddy from down under (Australia)
Sensei Gary Curtis, nice guy. He teach's Kosho. I was in Australia, in the 60's. We talked about the area's I got to see, Melborune and Sydney, he was 2 years old when I was there. LOL..

    I will write more later.

    Regards, Gary
