Default Japanese Kempo entry on MT Encyclopedia

This is a user contributed entry, so everyone feel free to add/correct/expand. There are some content guidelines in that this is an encyclopedia entry, so all intel must be verifiable and credible, and in a neutral manner.

Currently, we don't have a listing for Japanese Kempo. You can create and help contribute by going to the main kenpo entry, and following the Tracy links for now.

Default Re: Japanese Kempo entry on MT Encyclopedia

    Hi!

I went through the article, I added some content to the Eastern side, edited a bunch of "deadwood" (useless words) out of the text and added the Modified Hepburn "ō" to the text *when a name of a martial art* was not concerned. I also changed said all references (outside of names) into "Kempō." I didn't do this to tick anyone off but as a matter of "academics" because really, when it comes down to brass tacks, the U.S Library of Congress uses the Modified Hepburn Romanization- so it co-incides with an attempt to seem scholastic. That is to say, if it's someone's school name, they can name it and spell it anyway they want. If it is a term being used in an academic paper, it should be formatted accordingly. It's an old argument, but I believe that in this way, it is fair to everyone who speaks English (as opposed to those who don't speak English and used the Kunrei-Shiki or the Nippon-shiki method).

    Kudos!
