I just made a significant edit to the entry, in fact.

I think trying to connect Mitose to okinawan martial arts is speculative at best.
I've seen some of what people have brought forward as evidence of the connection and it really doesnt hold up.
I know the biggest factor is his first book and the comparisons to other books.......happens all the time and is evidence of ripping of someone elses idea.
Im sure if Mitose was the master Emperado says he was....It would have been pretty easy for him to copy.

Things like skill are ephemeral. You might be right, but the heritage of certain methods (whether they were a "vehicle" for teaching or not) is unequivocally Okinawan.

I agree with you here......in regards to something like naihanchi kata.

But let's assume for argument sake that Mitose did indeed have a family art that contained it's own forms.
Using something else in order to pass on principles or techniques is a pretty good way of teaching something without really showing a family system, so to speak.

Somebody from koshoryu should take a look at the Genbukan's kempo curriculum for comparison. It claims to be synthesized from kukishin and a couple of other Japanese koryu and is typically Japanese in employing two-person kata.
