The fantastic Hapikdo grandmaster Bong Soo Han died on Monday , Jan. 8, 2007, at his home in Santa Monica, CA. He was a truely great man, friend of GM Parker, and to all martial artists whoever met him. Whenever I talk to my students about the real meaning of the martial arts, I never fail to mention Master Han as a True Gentleman who stands for all of the qualities of a real practitioner: he was patient, tolerant, respectful, humble, insightful, incrediably knowledgeable, and so much more. No one whoever saw his kicking performance in the film "Billy Jack" ever forgot his movements. Frank Trejo says those moves are what got him interested in studying the arts in the first place.
So goodbye to an old friend and a great man. He will be greatly missed until we all meet again some day. May he remain in the presence of the Divine.
Respectfully,
Lonewolf
