Lets see, the words "gi" is pretty common, even though rightfully it should be a "dogi." "Kiai" is heard every now and then.

    Thats about it.

Before we transitioned over to EPAK, yes we counted in Japanese and used Sensei, amongst other traditions.

    Now we're totally american.
Some of the older students say they miss the Japanese.

From what I understand, Japanese is mostly used in more traditional dojos. Especially amongst systems like Shorin-Ryu for instance.

We use a few basic terms such as "Sensei", "kata", "dojo", "kiai", and "gi" but that is pretty much it- I still call a knife-hand strike a "Shuto" but that is just me

The above is just my opinion.

    My school is completely Amurcanized.

Uniform, Form , School, Shout etc... when I was doing Shorin Ryu everything was in Okinawan.
    Quality outweighs quantity every time.

We try and mix in japanese. Some of the concepts are hard to explain because they don't translate well or you have to have an understanding of the japanese society. Like mushin, zanshin, yoyu, and hinkaku.
