I love defending against punches. Probably because their are more punch techniques that any other.

I enjoy the punch techniques just because there's so many cool ones (thundering hammers, dance of death, etc.) but my favorite attacks are probably grabs. "If you want to tie up one or both of your hands and leave mine free to attack you, you just messed up big-time"

When we practice, I love it all! But in reality.... I'd rather not defend against anything as I prefer not to be attacked!!!! LOL

I like to defend against hugs. The only clear defense is to hug back.

God, I'm such a mush head.

I do like to defend against punches because there are so many to choose from.

Punches & grabs. I see those the most & want to be clean & smooth when executing them.

I loved the two man techniques. We do so many things with just one attacker but what happends when one of us would get jumped by multiple attackers?

Yes Sir. I could not have said it better, and since I find myself in tight spaces a lot (I work in a high rise building) seems like the most probable attack would be a grab. Like in an elevator maybe dropping wing with a good old fashion wall slam in the end LOL

it's all about grabs.. because.. honeslty.. if you are stupid enough to try and grab me... (If you saw me tha would make more sense) <-- big guy. then it is my duty to have to tie you up like a pretzel before I appologize to you for the pain you are in.

    Its too hard to decide!!!
I like to practice all of them. But i guess my top favorites are: Punches because they are so common and there are tons of options, Grabs because my attackers need to learn the second they put their hands on me they made a mistake, and Chokes/Locks because just when they think they have the upper hand.. BAM! the old switch-a-roo. Although IMO the best ones are random attacks.

The great thing about defending against punches is they also work single hand lapel grabs or single hand pushes.

Speaking of punches....and defending them.... ever watch UFC or Ultimate Fighter and wonder why you never see any blocks? Especially since the majority of the punches you see are hooking or haymaker type punches? I was watching it last night and the combatants looked like school yard brawlers just punching wildly at each other hoping to land a "lucky punch."

I love practicing defenses against various locks. Lock flows are fun - where you can basically reverse the locks. Part of this may be that the first SDT I officially learned was "Japanese Stranglehold" against a rear arm bar choke. I also love the defenses against rear two-handed chokes - "Bridge" was a nice, fun, destructive sequence. And I love the flow of the old Chinese Kenpo technique "Crash of the Eagle" (I think it has an EPAK equivalent name, but can't remember it off the top of my head), as well as the IKCA version, "Raking Eight." So much fun to reverse the tie-up, and punish him for trying!

I have to agree with CC here. In practice, I enjoy everything. In reality I try to avoid it all.

I like the punches, however I just learned Falcons of Force so this might change later.
