Uh, no. I don't have any moments like that. I operate at peak efficiency at all times.

Well I had another Duh, moment in class last night. I’m from the country cut me some slack. (Red necks and Kenpo) bad combination. We were working short 2 and well I never really gave much thought to a transitional cat stance. Always been a stance I took for granted and preformed it with out a thought. I know by now you’d think I would have picked up on the usefulness of this move to widen or make narrow your stance. But it was right about the time that my instructor showed me how in the middle of a tech or in sparing you would be able to move out of range of a kick. Since you haven’t really moved your body you’d be able to return a strike by just returning to your neutral stance or transitioning into a forward bow.
Anyway I love those moments when the light comes on.
Care to share some of your experiences.

I love it when that happens. You want to kick yourself for not seeing it before, but that actually motivates me to "look" for more.
"It is sobering to reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence." – Charles A. Beard
I love those!
No cats were harmed in the making of this post, transitional or not.
