    Default motivation

How do you get motivated when you just feel like you cant go on anymore? For the last two weeks I've found it so hard to stick to my normal training routine. I seem to be stuck in a rut. Anyone have any Ideas?

some people try to force themselves to do it.
when you're in a rut.......the best way to get out of it is to switch your routine a bit......give it a rest and come back with a fresh brain.

I agree. When I am in a rut, I try to dial the training back a bit. It gives me the chance to think about why I'm training and gives some much needed relaxation.

I took a break from Kenpo for about 9 months, did some other training, and generally did some other things with my life. Now that I'm back in it, I have more passion, more energy, and more willingness to train. I'm not suggesting that long of a hiatus, but some time could be helpful.

    Good luck!

You just need to vary your routine a little bit to keep it interesting. I pick up the clubs when I get burned out on the other stuff.

I would have to agree. It is much harder to get bored when you switch things around a bit. Variety is the spice of life.

It's tough. I think we all face hills, peaks and plateaus. I think when your training plateaus variety is the key.

When I get in a rut I look for inspiration because that's typically where the root of it lies for me. I'll feel like I'm stagnating and lose persepective. Also when i'm in a rut in my workout, i'll focus even more on teaching and that's a big part of where my inspiration comes from. that and AMY LONG.

no worries. this to shall pass.
