    Default Kempo Kung Fu

    Hello all,
I'm new to the site and been out of Kenpo for about a year, but am going back to it next week.

I was wondering if anyone knows where "Kempo Kung Fu" comes from. I've been watching MTV2's FinalFu. While I'm not very impressed with the fights (they are very restricted point sparring matches with no head contact or takedowns), I respect the young martial artists for putting themselves out there.

One, Jabari Pride, says he has a background in Kempo Kung Fu. He has very fast hands that did remind me of what many-a ken/mpo-ist might do. Anyone know where this comes from?

It probably comes from the mind of a clever martial artist trying to invent a new style.

    Hello Gardawamptu,
I have trained in a style of Kempo sometimes known as Kempo Kung fu.
I don't know if this is the style you are looking for.
The Kempo Kung fu that I trained in was an offshoot of another style of Kempo called Moh.
The instructor who coined the name, "Kempo Kungfu" was the head instructor for a while, under a guy named Olaf Simon.
    Hope this helps you out.

At some point during the show, the USSD was mentioned. This would indicate that the style was Shaolin Kempo of the Fred Villari lineage.

    Hope this helps.
