    Default How many organizations

Ok so the IKKA disbanded. Many of the black belts created their own organization because of this.

How many and what are the organizations that came about from this?

WOW that is a huge task to answer. Almost to many to list but the number has come down since 1990.

Id say open up the journey and almost every person in it and some seniors not in it all have an association.

I was told once that for EPAK Tatum and Mills associations have the largest numbers.

    Even bigger question......
What would it take to get them ALL to work together in some capacity in the spirit of cooperation previously known as the "Brotherhood" prior to SGM Parkers death?

As great as that would be I do not think that will ever happen again. Their is so much politics and so many ego's now I do not think it is possible.

The only constant is change....and change has to start somewhere....

Was there a "spirit of cooperation" previous to SGM Parker's death, or was he just riding herd on a loosely affiliated bunch of martial artists? There were plenty of breakaways and splits even before his death, so I suspect the idea of some golden age of kenpo happiness is probably overblown.

Yes change must start somewhere. Let's think, bring Larry Tatum, Paul Mills, Joe Palanzo, and Chuck Sullivan together. What would happen if they tried to work together? All three are 10th degree black belts in their own organization.

You are right, several before and many afterwards. The axe has also fallen many times.

Oh, you do live in a dream world.

As someone else mentioned, egos are involved. People are people are people. They all want to be recognized as being as great as they think they are -- sometimes valid and sometimes not.

But getting them all to work together would take stronger egos than most of them have.

Many more than just those listed. I think they tried at one time to have a "board of Masters" and it just didn't work out.

Anyone else remember that or was it a dream I had? LOL.

There were always people leaving and coming back to Parker. Since what Ed Parker was doing was always evolving many people stopped where they were and continued with what they were taught. There is nothing wrong with that. Some people decided that some of the things they were taught became obsolete or were no longer needed and replaced it with something they think should be there, maybe if they had stayed with Parker and evolved with what he was doing they would not have had to throw things out or replace them, we will really never know. There are others that have always needed to be a leader, and only can fit in an organization when they are in charge.

A lot of seniors came together a few years ago for the Homecoming and it was truly amazing. I have the DVD, and recommend that everyone add it to theor collection.
    Quality outweighs quantity every time.
