I just found it in the book that Mrs. Parker produced about Mr. Parker that I purchased off of Amazon.

Regardless...it applies to the same philosophy. Why break a board? What did that board ever do to you? LOL

Sometimes when my instructor is going over a new technique with me and he's in a good mood he'll usually end his commenatary with "Good. Now cover out grab his wallet and run."

another one that i've heard that always stuck with me was "A black belt can only covers two inches of your a$$, your skill must cover the rest."

One of the best of all-time:

"Either you do karate...."yes".....or you do karate....."no"......you do karate....."guess so".....get squashed like grape" (Mr. Miyagi, from The Karate Kid).

Good one. That's a philosophy to live by. True on so many levels. Can be adapted to many areas. You're either commited to what you're doing or you're not, but nobody likes a half-ass anything.

Pain is the weakness leaving your body.

Better to sweat in the Dojo than bleed on the street.
