Favorite Weapon?

What weapon do you favor the most and why? If you don't know how to use a particular weapon which one would you like to learn to use?

I've recently been considering the axes. They're rare and I think would fit my personality. I think that is important if one is to express oneself through a form or kata. I know a couple of staff forms and really like it in terms of being a practical weapon.

I prefer either the combat knife of escrima sticks. Either way any weapon is just an extension to your body. It is fun to use any wweapon because you are able to be creative to figure out how to use them effectively and efficiently. My personal form had part of it that was just done with the escrima sticks.

I know. Recently, Gimp asked me to help her learn a fan form. I never had any desire to use a fan before. But I fiddled with them a bit as a favor to her. I still feel dirty...LOL...

Favorite weapon Mossberg 590A1 chambered in 12Ga. Oh yeah Karate weapon I like the escrima sticks and nunchaku. I hope to one day learn to use a Katana, Kwan Dao, three section staff, and the Bo staff.

I think I've been threatened w/in an inch of my life if that gets out... so it won't be up unless I have consent from CC AND I can figure out how in the hang to get it from my camera to the computer.

My favorite weapon? I like fully automatic . I carry a 380 Bersa. As far as more physical weapons go, I like the bowstaff, (probably because it was the first I learned). I have been interested in learning how to use a fighting ring, but havn't had any luck yet.

Wow! I would love to experiment with fans. I've liked those ever since Mortal Combat came out. Is your form fun?

In Kara-Ho Kempo we learn forms with the fan, chopsticks, Kama, hooking swords, pickering swords, and many others. We have 18 weapons with 3 forms for each... It is way up there in rank though most of these are for or at 4th dan or higher- At a given rank you are allowed to choose what weapon you want to learn. (I am not there yet so this is tentative)

I thought the fan and chopsticks were "cute" until I saw and felt some of the applications. The fan is steel edged and heavy- The chopsticks are about 18 inches and thick

I just learned a spear form (could be done as well with a bo) and it is amazing.

I have a smidgeon of training with the Bo and escrima. I'd like to learn chinese broadswords, katana, spear, fans, and three-section staff.

My favorite in terms of the weapon I'd want if I had the time to choose would be a firearm. The weapons I train with the most are knives and the ones I train just for the fun of it are escrima sticks, the bo-staff, and nunchaku.

I am going to have to second the firearms thing, Tex. Apart from that...nothing says distraction like a heaping cup of scalding hot coffee to the eyes.

From my Hapkido days...

Dan Bong--11 to 12 inch stick, also known as the Bone Breaker, used to strike joints in a whipping/snapping type motion, also very effective in thrusting strikes and in Joint Manipulation.

Walking Cane--the kind with the crook. Extremely versatile and legal to carry in all 50 states and the District of Columbia!
