I learned a little bit more about being patient. I also learned that I need more cardio b/c I seriously got winded from doing short 3 -6 last night.

Our instructor fussed at us for not practicing this month's 2 new techniques enough to know them. He's right we should be working on our own, but I've never enjoyed getting reprimanded for what part of the group is doing. Most of the class is testing next week for their next advancement and he's concerned that we aren't ready.

We worked ground fighting, knife drills and of course reviewed all belts.

I learned that I was having stance issues with Crushing Hammer and Crashing Wings. I haven't worked them on a body in awhile- only in the air and was getting off balance when we worked those in class this week. Moved my feet out a bit and got into a better/deeper stance and problem solved!!

I learned that I had been leaving out a hammerfist in the first move/second side of form 5 and that I'd been doing it this way all along. Ugh.

I learned that I need more work on knife techniques.

I learned that I need time by myself to run through my own material if I want to feel good about myself and confident. And that I really need a body to work on too.

    It's been a good week.

I learned I'm hella-rusty on on Form 7 and the Multple Attacker techniques. I learned I hadn't forgot as much of 2-Man set as I had feared.

I learned that I may think I'm ready to test, but I'm not.
I learned that just because I knew something once, doesn't mean I still know it. I learned that I have a long way to go.

The cup is half full, not half empty. Great seminar by John Sepulveda in Collyville, Texas. No matter how high I get, there is always more to learn (Thank goodness, one of the things I love about my Art.)
