Default How different are the many styles??

I have been doing alot of investigative research into the difference in the many Kenpo styles and I was just wondering what others had to say about it. so my question is: In a short answer, How different are the many different American Kenpo styles that originated from SGM. Parker?

    Dang!

Thought I had a chance at answering this one but nope...

I am sure folks will swing by and add their knowledge- it is a good question.

    Cheers!
The above is just my opinion.

There are as many "syles" as there are black belts that he promoted....and then some.

I was taught the way each Kenpoist or any MA'er moves.. is their own 'style'.
That each MA is a System.

So since that's the way I believe.. The styles are as diverse as each individual who practices a particular system of Kenpo

Well, the Tracy system is a little more old style and a little more rigid in their movements. I did it for two years and learned a lot.

It's a little hard to describe the differences in some movements. Those under Huk Planas have a number of differences in type of movements from how those under Tatum do it, but it's a little hard to describe.

I know that some other lines have different extensions.

I think it like accents. I listen to Camey, jfarnsworth or MLKKA (and probably Katie and Jamie) talk and they all have distinct accents. I can understand them and their ideas are communicated clearly, but the pronunciation and word choices are a little different.

I think kenpo is the same way. The language is the same and the general way of expressing it is the same, but there are subtle and not-so-subtle accents that change how it's expressed.
