This is actually an excellent documentary about Bruce Lee.

Ed Parker is mentioned a couple of times as well.

Where is the link to the movie? The one given above only leads to a couple of blog entries from 2015.

So "Birth of the Dragon" opens today.

Anyone plan on seeing it this weekend?

I'm probably going to take it in sometime in the next couple of weeks. I checked out the list of characters in the film on www.imdb.com but sadly Ed Parker is not listed. Although I wonder if there still could be a little something about Mr. Parker in the film since at least one scene takes place at the 1964 Internationals.

FYI, here is a link to an article from "Official Karate" magazine, July 1980, written by Michael Dorgan. It is this article that inspired they movie.

Reviews have been mixed about the movie, and Shannon Lee has stated that the Lee family is going to spearhead a better film about Bruce Lee in a year or two since they did not have any input on this film and do not really approve of it.

Honestly I would rather see a movie about the real guy not a ad lib movie about him. I'm more interested in a film about who he really was. And the same about Ed Parker..i'd like to see a film on just the man

Very much my opinion. Bruce Lee wasn't some invincible supernatural unbeatable inhuman legend. He was a very exceptional, quite flawed human being whom we still don't know much about. There are Bruce Lee Stans who think he beat Vince in that speed test thing at Long Beach International which he DIDN'T, and they think he could beat Michael Jai White now WHICH HE CAN'T, and all that other impossible stuff they attribute to Bruce Lee. I'm not interested in the superhuman legend of Bruce Lee.

I want to know more about BRUCE LEE THE MAN, not THE MYTH [ yes that was a reference to the Bruce Li movie of the same name ]. Im interested in Ed Parker, too...without the Kenpo-Parker Politics, thanks.
