The Book Set is an earlier form borrowed into kenpo in the early days. I have heard it is from Hung Gar originally, but I have never seen that verified thru independent Hung Gar sources. It also goes by the name "Panther", but what its Hung Gar name might be, is unclear to me.
I believe it became known as "the book set" because Mr. Parker intended (or perhaps did) include it in one of the early books he was writing.
I believe the EPAK lineages have dropped the form from the curriculum, but it is still included in Tracys.
I know Tracys has it on video as a reference for members, I don't know if it is available to the general public. It might also be in written form, in Tracys manuals.

Yeah Im looking for the hung gar kata adapted by Ed Parker.
I have the Ibrano video coming, I wanted a study guide or technique print up of it
That's what I love about this place...I learned something new today! I'd never heard of this before now....
Now I'm curious.

Right on! Glad to help.
I would like to see any verification thru independent Hung Gar sources on whether this form was indeed borrowed from them, and if so, how well it holds up in translation.
Tracys rendition of Hung Gar's Tiger and Crane is quite a bit different from the various versions from the different Hung Gar lineages I have seen.
