    Default help with sparring clips

hey hey.. iv been watching sparring clips on youtube to see and spot what i can to help get ready for this tournament at the end of the month (my first).. im having trouble, i cant seem to analize what im watching.. aside from some folks (obviously) favoring one move..

if someone could link a few videos on youtube or anywhere really.. and point out some tells these ppl are showing.. nuances, etc... thatd be a big help.. i do notice alot of the TKD ppl keep their hands down.. which is a mystery to me.. but whatever.. ill mostly be going against other Kenpoists, TKD, Muay Thai, Isshinryu, and Shorin Ryu..

i mean im mostly entering for fun.. i dont expect to win.. but i do expect to do well for someone my skill level, as well as absorb as much as i can.. but i do wanna go in with more knowledge than i have currently.. and leave with 5x more.. ya know?

as far as i know general karate tournament rules.. no grabbing, no direct shots to the face, no low kicks (hate that rule) obscure hits, obvious stuff like that. ill ask my teacher if he knows more info. light/moderate contact point sparring is what im gathering for the non black belts.. whether its continual or they split you up after each point i dont know.

Find out if its continous or point fighting because they are two different worlds, good luck.

There really aren't any tells in the sparring world for beginners, each opponent is different and each will have their strong points and weak points. You should expect less control from beginners and a lot of excess nervous energy because most of the people in your division are in the same boat as you, thier first event.
    Quality outweighs quantity every time.
