Thanks for the suggestion. I found Mr. Timmons contact info on the akki website about a week ago. I have left couple of messages for him and am waiting for his reply. In the mean time, I was hoping to make contact with some local AKKI practitioners via the web.

I do not know of any AKKI schools here in San Diego.

There are a few schools and teachers that I am aware of that teach an American Kenpo curriculum.

Gary Wilson has a school in San Diego.. I think its called American Family Kenpo...

Barry Barker has a school in Poway called Poway Kenpo Karate/Poway Martial Arts

Tom Georgian has a school in Escondido called Aaction Kenpo Karate

Ron Jimenez has a home based school in Vista, I do believe he advertises though.

There is a school out in Ramona that taught Kenpo, I am unsure if they still do, they were called Brand X

the Cepeda Brothers had a school but it has since closed, I know they have several practitioners in the area and I suspect some still teach in clubs etc.

There are some Tracy Kenpo folks as well in a few places.

Parker Linekin has a school in Scripps Ranch I believe, but I think he offers a really wide variety or interpetation of kenpo...

and finally I am in Oceanside with several private students, but mostly teach at my instructors school still in Poway..Barry Barkers

Not exactly what you were looking for, but its a start.
If you are in town I recommend checking out our Poway location. We have close to 10,000 square feet now.
    4 different training floors
    Cage and ring
and several styles to train in.
Several instructors for each style as well, its not a one person teaches all type of place lol.

Thank you for your response. I live in Escondido, and have visited Mr. Georgian's school (which is now called ProKenpo). They have been very helpful in answering my questions about the American Kenpo System. I believe Mr. Georgian and Mr. Barkers trained together. I get the feel from my conversations with Mrs. Georgian, that there is a bit of a friendly competition between them.

I agree that there seems to be no AKKI schools in San Diego, and the contact info for California's Rep posted on their website seems to be out of date.
